Why is it that Government says “NO” to perfectly good medicine?
Because Big Pharma can’t patent it? Because Allopathic Doctors don’t understand it? Because there is no money to be made on it? Because Insurance doesn’t cover it? Because it does no harm, but the FDA won’t approve it to protect Big Pharma?
The answer is: All of the above.
In a 1938 Popular Mechanics it was stated that there are more than 25,000 uses for hemp from Lipton Tea to the manufacturer of vehicles. Believe it or not, one acre of hemp can produce as much raw fiber as 10 acres of trees. Hemp oil which is derived from Hemp seeds is recognized as one of the most versatile and beneficial substances known to man. The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were both drafted on Hemp paper. Abraham Lincoln used hemp oil in his lamps at home. Hemp is also considered a super food due to its high essential fatty acid content of omega-3 and omega-6, gamma linolenic acid. Hemp was used in medicinal teas and tonics because of its healing properties for a millennia to relieve pain in cancer patients.
The Medicinal Benefits of Cannabinoids in Hemp.
First we should explain the difference between Hemp, Marijuana and Cannabis. Hemp is English for a number of varieties of the cannabis plant such as “industrial hemp” which can be used for fuel, food, fiber, oil, paper, etc. Marijuana is of Spanish derivation used to describe varieties of cannabis that were bred for medicinal and recreational purposes. There are two cannabinoids which are preeminent in cannabis. 1. THC, the psychoactive ingredient and 2. CBD, which is an anti-psychoactive ingredient. Marijuana is a slang term used to make it sound more sinister and it is high in the psychoactive cannabinoid, THC and low in the anti-psychoactive cannabinoid CBD. Industrial Hemp is the opposite of marijuana with minimal THC and very high in anti-psychoactive CBD. Because of the derogatory connotation of the word marijuana, for the rest of this article we will use the word Hemp instead of acquiescing to the pejorative intentions of the Medical Mafia.
Corporations Destroyed the Market for Hemp.
Up until the late 1930’s medicinal hemp tinctures with THC were available in most U.S. pharmacies. About the same time the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark which owned millions of acres of timberland also supplied most of the paper products in the USA. Hearst also owned most of the newspapers and stood to lose billions because of the growing production of hemp. In 1937 DuPont patented the process to convert plastics from oil and coal. Synthetics like plastic, nylon and rayon could be made cheaply from oil, and the industrialization of hemp would have ruined over 80% of DuPont’s business.
Follow the Money.
Andrew Mellon, DuPont’s primary investor, became President Hoover’s Secretary of Treasury and appointed his future nephew-in-law (Harry J. Anslinger) as head of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. With all of the players in place these nefarious tycoons plotted to declare Hemp “dangerous” as it was a threat to their mega dynasties. They took the obscure Mexican slang word marijuana and with a media led by the Hearst media cartel turned hemp, now known as marijuana, into a horrifying word responsible for auto accidents, acts of violence, incurable insanity, and vicious murders. Movies like “Reefer Madness” and “Marijuana: The Devil’s Weed” ran in movie houses across the nation. All of this propaganda to kill off an industry of cheap products so that the whores of industry could line their pockets by gaining public support to pass anti-marijuana laws.
The Sheeple Bowed to Those Few In Power.
Much like the “Sheeple” today, if the media says it is true then it must be true. Even though the brainwashing campaign had no basis in fact hemp was outlawed in the 1930’s. Hemp was not only a threat to the paper and oil industry but it became a looming threat to Big Pharma who did not like inexpensive non-toxic medicinal applications. Hemp was plentiful and cheap and to top it off didn’t cause any additional medical conditions that required prescriptions for more of the Medical Mafia’s toxic poisons.
Proven Medical Effectiveness of THC.
The medical evidence of THC’s effectiveness in treating cancer and reducing pain is overwhelming. This has been known since 1974 when the first experiment documenting marijuana’s anti-tumor effects took place at the Medical College of Virginia at the behest of the U.S. government and the National Institute of Health (NIH). The purpose of this study was to prove that Marijuana damages the immune system and causes cancer. The result was the exact opposite as the study found that THC slowed the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice (Lung, breast and a virus-induced leukemia). The Government quickly forced the study to shut down which included any further studies on the anti-cancer effects of hemp even though research proved that THC cures cancer.
The Research Continues.
In 2000 researchers in Madrid, Spain found that THC in Hemp inhibits the spread of Brain Cancer by selectively inducing programed cell death otherwise known as apoptosis in brain tumor cells without any negative impact on surrounding healthy cells. Could you imagine what would happen to the cancer industry in the USA if word got out that there was a way to cure brain cancer without using Chemo, Radiation or Surgery? It would wreak havoc in the Big Pharma and allopathic medical world. Unfortunately this news was never permitted to reach the newspapers in the USA. Can you guess why? Think what it would do to the Big Pharma companies whose chemotherapy drugs were bringing in billions of dollars a year, and how that would affect their advertising in the media should those dollars cease to exist. You only have to watch one night of T.V. advertising or read a newspaper to understand how much money the pharmaceutical industry spends on selling new patented drugs to the public. The interesting part of the advertising is that virtually half of the cost is explaining all of the side effects that come with taking these new drugs.
More Research.
In 2007 in a Harvard Medical Study it was shown that THC in hemp decreased lung cancer tumors by 50% and significantly reduced the ability of cancer to metastasize. “The beauty of this study is it showed that a substance of abuse, if used prudently, could offer a new and different therapy against lung cancer” said Anju Preet, Ph.D., and researcher at the Division of Experimental Medicine. Other researchers have shown the value of THC in the effective treatment of Hodgkin’s and Kaposi’s Sarcoma. As a matter of fact the International Medical Verities Association includes hemp-oil on its cancer protocol list. Studies have also shown that cannabinoids (and endocannabinoids) inhibit the proliferation of other various cancers, including
Breast, Colorectal, Prostate, Stomach, Skin, Leukemia, Lymphoma, Lung, Uterine, Thyroid, Pancreatic, Cervical, Mouth, Glioma Brain Cancer and Biliary Tract Cancer.

Why Did Governor Otter Veto this Bill?
The Governor vetoed a perfectly reasonable bill that could potentially help thousands, many of them children with epilepsy. Let me tell you why. First take a look at the large contributors to the Governor’s campaigns and those of certain legislators for the last three elections. We call them the Medical Mafia and the medical industrial establishment, crony health insurance companies along with influential individuals in the medical profession who wish to garner the Governor’s favor when legislating a bill that will affect them. The medical industrial complex is alive and well right here in Idaho, and they don’t want anyone messing around in their territory. When is everyone going to figure out that politics and Professional Politicians in particular are all about “show me the money” and “help me get reelected?”
Allopathic Doctors and Big Pharma Don’t Want Competition.
The main stream Allopathic doctors and Big Pharma don’t want anyone competing against them when it comes to medicine and drugs. I can tell you that from my experience of 40 years on Wall Street dealing with big pharmaceutical companies. If they can’t patent it, they don’t want anyone using it. It’s ok if they get millions of people hooked on their pain killing Opioids like OxyContin which they make billions of dollar from, but don’t allow anything not patentable that can cure disease enter the medical market place. Drugs have killed millions of people, yet when is the last time you heard of the president of a Pharmaceutical going to jail for those deaths? Has everyone forgotten the 2007 $600 million dollar settlement by Purdue Pharma because they misled doctors and patients claiming the drug was less likely to be abused than traditional narcotics.
Doctors, Medical Treatments, & Prescription Drugs Kill Just Under 1 Million Each Year.

How Big Pharma and Uneducated Doctors are Doing Harm.
Big Pharma and Allopathic Doctors along with the FDA have been partners for years keeping nutrients, vitamin supplements and simple non harmful compounds like CBD oil out of consumers hands because there is no profit for them. This is why medical students are taught so much about drugs and little about nutrition so when they go into practice the big pharma companies own them. If you go to a doctor today for an ailment chances are two out of three times you will wind up with a prescription instead of a suggestion on how to change your diet or lifestyle.
Why Would Idaho’s State Medical Board Object to CBD oil?
Would you be willing to bet that Idaho’s State Medical Board had a say in this veto. CBD oi is nothing more than Alternative Medicine that has proven its value and is not harmful to those who take it. The simple fact is that there is no money to be made by doctors or Big Pharma on a substance that is non patentable. What they do have is control over its use by those who desperately need this substance. The Governor had no business vetoing this bill after it was passed by the legislature and by doing that has again shown the citizens of Idaho that he would prefer to take care of those that have donated to his past campaigns than those 1,500 afflicted with epilepsy who are in need of alternative medical care remedies for their ailments. You can bet that he would not have vetoed this bill if one of his family members were in need of this drug.
If No Harm is Done Why all the Fuss.
Just because medical science can’t yet explain why the cannabidiol oil (CBD) in marijuana has already helped many control or stop their seizures is not a reason to keep those in need from helping themselves. CBD oil has not been linked to any major side effects or negative health problems. Instead cannabidiol has been well tolerated in all studies performed to date even studies that involve high doses of the oil.
The State of Idaho should not be in the business of doing research on CBD oil and its effects on children, and they should certainly not be using $128,000 of our tax money to do this research.
Legislature Needs to Override This Veto
If the Oil has no harmful side effects, why is the Governor sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong? Once more we bring up the cliché “We’re from the Government and We’re Here to Help You”. We don’t need their help on this one. Just leave these parents alone to care for the welfare of their children and allow them to use CBD oil un-hindered by state rules and regulations.
The bill to allow CBD oil in Idaho for use in the treatment of intractable epilepsy should be reintroduced and passed with a veto proof vote. It’s time for our legislators to stand up to Governor Otter and do the right thing for the citizens of Idaho as they did with the gambling at Le Bois. Any Representative or Senator who votes in favor of this dumb research project should be voted out of office in 2016.
