Many years ago, I read a Sermon by Joseph Franks entitled “IT WAS EASIER FOR ISREAL TO ESCAPE EGYPT THAN IT WAS FOR EGYPT TO ESCAPE ISREAL” The point of the article was that it oftentimes is easier to escape physical oppression and yes even slavery—the Israelites were slaves of Pharaoh’s—than it is to escape the demons in our own hearts and souls. And not just the Israelites in Egypt but also the captivity and bondage of the Israeli people in Babylon, we learn that once the yoke of slavery, and famine and poverty is taken off a people’s shoulders, once life becomes easy and many things are taken for granted—not just physical things like food, clothing and shelter, but things that are even more important like liberty and the freedoms we enjoy to worship, speak freely and own property, we forget to give thanks and recognize where all our blessings come from.
People living in our country with the greatest material wealth known in the history of the world seem to have followed in the steps of the ancient Israelites, We forget to give thanks to God for our many blessings. Are we in fact a Godly people? Have we forgotten to have the grace to accept what our parents and grandparents have sacrificed in order for us to enjoy the lives we are living today? Most of all we seem to lack gratitude for our many blessings.
There is no such thing as white or black privilege. The greatest privilege we enjoy in this country is our privilege of being American. God made all men in his image and we therefor all are “created equal” Asking a white person to renounce their whiteness is asking that person to reject their own creation.—They didn’t make themselves white, God did. Those asking others to take a knee to renounce what God made is just as bad as a person believing they are better than somebody else because of their skin color, gender, or nationality is different. All such acts are bigoted. Those who place others in a position of supplicant deify themselves. This is the essence of slavery and totalitarianism. This is the predicate for action by Marxist organizations like BLM and ANTIFA. They are Godless atheistic movements and organizations that have neither a moral basis for their demands or a sense of duty or service to anything or anyone except those who like themselves seek power over others.
Throughout all of history, one way to obtain wealth is to conquer another country that has wealth. Like Sparta and Athens in the Peloponnesian War. It is the opposite of what we as Americans have done. WE have transported our wealth to our allies and enemies no questions asked. Without American wealth and adoption of capitalistic markets mainland China today would look more like North Korea. In schools today our children are taught about “white privilege”, American Imperialism” and European “Colonialism”.
The totalitarianism seeks to divide and conquer us and yet they have no ideas moving forward about how to make life better for anyone. Modern history is irrefutable in this regard. Since the French Revolution, what has followed after “The Revolution” is always worse than what came before. Look at the Jacobins, Bolsheviks, Communists, Nazis, Mao, and Castro. Are the people better? Our Revolution was very different and that is what makes America “EXCEPTIONAL”. Enlightenment ideals combined with Christian principles created a country that embraced the industrial revolution, led the world out of 15,000 years of grinding poverty, indenture hood, and slavery, and conquered Fascism and Communism on the battlefield in the mid-20th century. Do we have the moral courage and energy to confront “the false prophets amongst us” today?
When the election turned out the way it did I was angry at the Progressives—actually regressive if you think about, who have promised everything and plan to transfer great wealth from those who have worked for their living, back to those who want free stuff—forgive my college loans, subsidize my health insurance or give it to me for free, invest in my solar panel startup company or if you elect me I will promise to “bring home the bacon.” Let’s bind the States with the hook of not being able to decrease taxes for 2 years if they accept Federal Funds so we can shore up teachers’ and government workers’ pension plans. But I shouldn’t be mad at the politicians. They’re just taking the easy way out themselves. Few of them have anything to make or create or add value too. All they can do is “control “the means of production and create a false utility that adds neither productivity or efficiency to an economy.
I saw this e-mail post that was forwarded to me today and to be honest with you this sums up what I really think. I don’t want to seem angry and this applies to many of my friends and family so I don’t mean to be hurtful or contentious. But for me it is the truth about how I feel about “snowflakes” who put their own personal feelings about Donald Trump ahead of what was good for the country—or do they really believe in socialism? All I know is that in 6 weeks our military has lost a big advantage in the world, our borders are less safe and so are our cities, we are less energy independent, and our national debt has grown 4 trillion dollars. All because of hurt feelings in suburbia, academia, Hollywood, Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and Blaine County, and the Boise North End.
