No one Likes High Energy Prices

But you will hate 2 years of a Democratic Congress even more, so VOTE!

I needed to write this article because I’m tired of listing to the constant belly aching by so many on the right and the left about the high price of gas and diesel. I often think about how lucky America is with such an abundance of natural resources from petroleum to rare earth minerals. This advantage is one of the reasons we have been the leader of the free world. Unfortunately, there have been those leaders who we elected that have taken this advantage away from us to give themselves more power over our everyday lives. Yes I’m speaking of leaders like Obama and Biden who for a total of 16 years sucked the life out of our country with their Climate change policies and ridiculous regulations. Policies that cost us billions and shipped our industrial economy to the globalists and we as a country became a service economy.

It was Obama and Biden who caused much of the consternation in our country with so many rules and regulations that it has taken Trump 6 long years to reverse about half of them. Most of these rules were imposed by the EPA like the blended gasoline we use to reduce emissions. For Idaho blending and emissions rules add roughly 10 to 35 cents per gallon in the summer and less in winter and you get 4 to 5% less miles per gallon which also increase the price. They also regulated things like the type of light bulbs we use in our homes and the restrictors on our showers. In other words, they are the regulators of our lives. I ‘am hoping to educate some of you who are out their blaming Trump for all of the problems we have especially the high price of gasoline and diesel fuel.

We are coming up on the Mid Term elections and Trumps ratings if you want to believe all of the polls are in the toilet mostly due to the Iran War. The simple question I ask myself is am I better off today than when Obama or Biden were in office and the democrats controlled the house and senate? During both these presidencies we were not at war yet the high price for gasoline with Obama was $3.97 a gallon and $4.16 for diesel. For Biden it was $5.01 for gasoline and $5.81 for diesel. These high prices were primarily because of Climate Change policies and new regulations not because we were not engaged in a war. Yet the price of fuel was still much higher than it should have been and I didn’t hear as much belly aching than as we are currently hearing today.

We are at war with a country known for decades as a terrorist nation who has killed tens of thousands of its own people just for protesting in the streets something we allow here in our country as a right. Iran is a country that has said Death to America for decades and was in the process of refining uranium to the point that they could create several nuclear bombs. Trump is the first president who said, “No this can’t happen” and put his reputation as a peacemaker on the line to stop the development of a nuclear device by Iran. Yet all I hear from the media and many of his supporters including the left, are cries of disappointment because the price of fuel has jumped along with the price of everything else. They forget that because we live in a petroleum-based economy when the price goes up it touches just about every part of our lives economically.

I did some homework and checked on the cost of gas and diesel fuel in several other countries and guess what I found? The everyday price of gas and diesel before the war in the U.K., France and Germany was around the price we are now paying currently and today they are paying a little less than $10.00 for both a gallon of Diesel and gasoline which makes me feel a bit better now when I go to fill my tank. Unfortunately, the fact that other nations are paying a higher price will not change the minds of those who are pissed off at the high price here in America. Could it be that the Europeans are less annoyed by the high prices because they are more cognizant of the fact that the threat of Iran as a nuclear power might frighten them a bit more as they are in a much closer proximity to Iran and more vulnerable to a nuclear attack?

Trump did not ask for this war but he is the first president to stand up and say no more to America being blackmailed by a country that hates everything we stand for. Americans watched both Obama and Biden pay off the Iranians with billions of dollars and they took that money, spent it on more terrorist activities and the development of enough enriched uranium to make 10 nuclear devices. I don’t know about you but I’m more than willing to trade a short-term higher price of gasoline to preserve the safety of our country and the world because the alternative is unacceptable. What I can’t figure out is why there is so much consternation about this decision which should be simple. We don’t want to be blackmailed with the threat of a nuclear devise going off in one of our cities and this adversary has threatened Death to America. So while the cost is the higher price of energy till Iran capitulates or their radical government is overthrown by the people it is better than allowing them to blackmail anyone they choose if they had a nuke.

Trump’s first term was beneficial to all Americans as a rising tide lifts all ships and the changes he made helped just about everyone but the Democrats. Let’s take a look at his second term so far and see what he has accomplished to make our lives better.

1. He secured the border something the previous administration said needed new laws. Border apprehensions in fiscal 2025 fell to the lowest level in about 50 years with no change in the current laws.
2. Trump cut taxes for working families as the one “Big Beautiful Bill Act” was signed into law on July 4^th, 2025, which did four things. 1. It stopped the 2017 tax cuts from expiring. 2. It ended federal income tax on tips up to $25,000. 3. It ended income tax on overtime pay up to $12,500. 4. It raised the child tax credit.
3. Trumps Gaza plan got every living hostage released in October of 2025 including 100 Americans who were being held abroad.
4. He made NATO pay its fair share.
5. He backed the police and Crime fell as murder fell to a 25-year low, the largest one year drop in violent crime ever recorded and another 10% decline in the first half of 2026 while the FBI caught 10 out of 10 of the most wanted criminals.
6. He restored American energy as oil & gas production hit record highs with LNG exports.
7. He cut red tape and brought investment home by repealing Obama’s endangerment finding the rule behind climate regulations clearing the way for manufacturing to prosper so far for 8 straight months. Companies and countries have pledged more than 11 Trillion in new investments including $600 billion by Apple and 1.4 Trillion by the UAE.
8. He has actually lowered prescription drug prices the biggest drop in 63 years.
9. He launched an unpresented crackdown on fraud uncovering hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud and stopping tens of billions in fraudulent payments in only a few months
10. He established Trump accounts giving eligible American Children a tax advantage investment account and a $1,000 government seed contribution.
11. He has been instrumental in creating on million private sector jobs including nearly 100,000 factory construction jobs and 58,000 manufacturing jobs this year alone.
12. He secured the biggest oil deal win the world with Venezuela obtaining control of 65 billion barrels of proven reserves and has opened hundreds of millions of acres for oil, gas and coal production.
13. He reduced government regulations instituted by Obama and Biden which is projected to save the U.S. 1.5 trillion in 2026 alone
14. He has reduced the government work force to its lowest level since 1966.
15. Let us not forget that Average Americans are earning the highest wages in History, with the median annual wage for full-time workers reaching $64,220 per year.

You say you’re unhappy with the price of gasoline? I will tell you: if you just stay home on Election Day or go to the polls and vote for a Democrat or one who is pretending to be an Independent like Todd Achilles, you will be responsible for allowing them to take over Congress. Believe me when I say that you will be kicking yourself in the butt every day. After all, while we all know they will make Trump’s life miserable for two years, YOU and your family will pay the price economically when they are in control because… “We Get the Government We Deserve”.
