Bryan N. Zollinger – Candidate Position Summary

Taxation — I will oppose all new taxes and tax increases and work feverishly to reduce and cut current taxes. I believe our taxes are already too high because we are funding unconstitutional and unnecessary programs. I also believe there is plenty of waste in the current state budget to find areas where we can reduce spending to allow for a reduction in taxes.

Limited Government — Our government and governmental agencies are too big and too numerous. I will work to reduce government and will oppose all efforts to expand or create new agencies. I will also work to abolish existing nonessential and unconstitutional government created programs.

Individual Liberty — I will work to promote liberty for all. We have a God given right to be free from government intrusion in our private lives and the right to dictate our own choices. I will fight to restore those rights that have already been infringed and work to maintain those rights against further government intrusion.

Economic Liberty — I am appalled at the amount of bureaucratic rules and regulations that currently stifle growth and prevent people from starting a business and following their own American Dream. I will work to reduce unnecessary government regulation on individuals and businesses. The best way to stimulate our local, state and national economies is to remove these unnecessary burdens and to restore free enterprise.

Second Amendment Rights — Simply, I believe the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution means what it says. “A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Period. I will fight to restore and protect our rights as citizens to keep and bear arms and will do everything I can to ensure that this right is not further infringed.

States’ Rights — “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The federal government has already greatly encroached on the rights exclusively held by our state. I will work to restore our state’s rights and fight to make our state self-sufficient and not beholden to the federal government for funding. Too often in the past, we have “sold” these rights for the promise of federal dollars, we cannot continue to sell these rights to a federal government that is nearly $20 trillion in debt.

Closing — This is a very brief summary of my positions and I have not attempted to comment on any specific programs, laws, or regulations but am willing to speak with anyone about my positions on any particular issues. I can be reached by emailing info@ZollingerforIdaho.com or by calling 208-206-3086.
