Fulcher Outlines Economic Vision in Interview with Statewide Publication
(Meridian, ID) – Gubernatorial candidate Russ Fulcher is the first gubernatorial candidate to obtain an interview with Idaho’s conservative statewide publication – the Gem State Patriot. This follows Russ’s first interview with Kevin Miller on Idaho’s oldest radio station 580 KIDO when he announced his intention to run for governor in 2018.
In an exclusive interview with Gem State Patriot publisher Bob Neugebauer, Russ outlined his vision for creating high-wage jobs and returning Idaho to robust economic growth.
“The higher paying jobs are resource-based and manufacturing-based jobs. Idaho is a perfect state to harbor that, but the environment to allow that to prosper is being hindered by government,” Fulcher said. “Idaho is starving to death in a room full of food.”
As Russ continued, an environment that would allow Idaho to use its natural resources in a careful, but steady manner includes reducing taxes and lifting the regulatory burden on job creators to access and exploit in a positive and well-managed way “the blessings … that are truly under our feet.”
Other areas of economic development Russ discussed include “coordinating” better Idaho’s colleges and universities and other institutions and organizations training in different aspects of technology and other specific skill-based careers. Russ also touched on his vision for patient-centric healthcare alternatives to help those struggling to access affordable healthcare.

Russ Fulcher represented the Treasure Valley in the Idaho State Senate from 2005 through 2014. In recognition for his conservative leadership in the Statehouse, his colleagues elected him the Senate Republican Caucus Leader for 6 of those 10 years.
