It’s a Grand Old Flag

While watching the parade for the 250th birthday of the Army it gave me a sense of the America that I grew up in. One that didn’t have all of the controversary and fighting that takes place on a daily basis driving our country apart.

That parade brought back memories of my time as a child watching our military marching down the main street in our town with the people cheering and waving from the sidewalks waving their miniature American flags. It appears to me that many Americans have lost their sense of pride in our country and our military which protects us from all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Next week, I will turn 80 years of age, and I honestly never thought I would reach being an Octogenarian. One of the things I so vividly remember was the day I joined the Navy at the ripe old age of 17. I was in my senior year of high school and had to get my stepfather’s permission to join. I wound up spending my spring vacation at the Navy’s Great Lakes training center and quickly learned that this was a whole new world where if you wanted to survive and thrive you had better listen to your superior officers. On our last day there we had a parade on base for all those graduating and it set off a sense of pride that I had never felt before.

Watching the parade that President Trump held in honor of the Army’s 250th anniversary gave me a rerun of that same sense of pride I felt on that day I graduated boot camp. I’m not sure where we went astray as a country but I have a sense that even with all of the discourse we currently have I can see America coming back to greatness. Watching those troops marching in formation and the people on the sidewalks waving American flags gave me a sense of hope that America is back on track.

Even with all of the “No Kings” protest rallies held throughout the country watching our military march down the streets of our nation’s capital gave me a new sense of hope. I firmly believe that Trump is going to be successful in turning the country around and the people are responding. I believe they see hope on the horizon for our future as the greatest nation in the world filled with opportunity and prosperity for all like we have never seen before.

We may never be totally united as a people but we are the only country in the world that has all of the freedoms that most other countries wish they had. This is why so many want to live here and become American citizens because it is the land of unlimited opportunity where you can be what ever you want with hard work. There is no other country in the world like ours and we should all be proud that we live here. So, the next time you see our flag think about how fortunate you are to be an American and remember that Freedom isn’t Free someone paid a price fore us to have these freedoms that many take for granted.

God Bless America!

Thank you for the article! My father was in the Navy for 20 years and my son was for 4 – he graduated from Great Lakes also and when he came around with his group in that hall I was not prepared for all of the proud emotions I would feel and literally lost it. Thank you for bringing me back there with your article! God Bless the USA and our Military!

It is a “fools errand” to examine the actions of the so-called “progressive left,” looking for rational, reasoned explanations for their actions, from any Western, Judeo-Christian worldview.

This ignores who these people are. They are driven by a “religious” zealotry, their Marxist “progressive,” globalist politics is their “religion.” They were weened on “Darwinian evolution” which teaches that all of life is a random accident of nature, that as we “progress” through this naturalistic “game of craps,” the only “good or evil” is that which their appetites desire. Each one is their own “god,” accountable to no one and nothing but their own “appetites.”

America was founded by Christian settlers, escaping European tyrants, seeking to establish a Republic with democratic Constitutional “guard-rails” to maximize liberty, and prevent the rise of any tyranny which would seek to supplant their devotion to the God of the Bible.

As such, the U.S. has a long history of obstructing the twin global Marxist tyrannies of Communism and Fascism. These globalist tyrants — today embodied in the EU’s Marxist and Islamic tyrannies, know that the only way to acheive their tyrannical ends is the utter destruction of the U.S.

Mass invasion of the the “third-world” into the Christian West, and destruction of all national sovereignty, and borders, in deference to global tyrrany, only makes any “sense” from this Satanic, oligarchic, evil worldview.

They will never feel ashamed of “any means neccessary” to achieve their view of a Marxist utopian “heaven on Earth.”

They all need to learn the lesson that mortal human, “utopia” lierally means “no place.”

We were told by our second president, John Adams, it was not only our right but our duty to know the moral character of our leaders. Be careful when choosing heroes.
Adams was one of the few POTUS that acknowledged Christ as Savior.

Lloyd Jones,

With all due respect, every American President that has taken the oath of office has put their hand on the Bible and sworn—“So help me God”, to “Support and defend The Constitution of The United States”
