What is wrong with our Constitution? Absolutely Nothing!
There is nothing wrong with our Constitution but there is something wrong with the people we have elected to enforce its rules. Here is an example of why our country is in deep trouble. This is a recent quote from our President ‘More than half the women in my administration are women”. This man was elected by a 6.5 million vote margin over former President Trump in 2020.
Does anyone see that America has a problem? I still have a hard time believing that we have that many dumb uninformed Americans who voted for Biden in 2020. The real problem with our country is that only 66.6% of eligible voters actually went to the polls or mailed in their votes. Even worse, in the latest 2022 midterm election, only 46.76% of eligible voters cast a ballot. The big question should be “Why is voter turnout so low if 71% of Americans in a recent NBC news poll say they are concerned that America heading in the wrong direction?” If this doesn’t change in 2024, we will be well on our way to becoming a third-world country.
Most supporters of an Article V convention would be shocked and appalled to hear that George Soros has been a proponent of convening an Article V convention and that in itself should give everyone pause before joining in this cause. Meckler has some very interesting supporters in this movement. Take for instance Professor Robert George of Princeton University who Meckler calls the foremost constitutional scholar in America and is also a new board member of the COS.
Prof. George is also a member of the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) and vehemently opposed Donald Trump’s presidency in 2016. He said the efforts to slow down the mass migration were unjust which explains a lot of George’s new draft for his version of our constitution for America called The Conservative Constitution. All one needs to do is to read the draft changes he proposes to the Second Amendment. Prof. George’s modified “Second Amendment” clarifies what we understand to be the best original understanding.
It Provides “Neither the States or the United States shall make or enforce any law infringing the right to keep and bear arms of the sort ordinarily used for self-defense or recreational purposes. Provided that states and the United States in places subject to its general regulatory authority may enact and enforce reasonable regulations on the bearing of arms by persons determined with due process to be dangerous to themselves or others.
Can you say RED FLAG LAWS? This man is on Meckler’s Board of Directors. We have to ask the question, how many famous and celebrated people are paid supporters of this cause?
Today, people believe whatever they want regardless of the facts and in today’s world most fear confrontation and believe everything will be ok regardless of how bad things get. These same people believe they won’t have to risk their own lifestyle to protect and preserve freedom as our forefathers did. This brings to mind a quote, “All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
Article V defines the two means by which the U.S. Constitution can be amended, neither of which gives the ability of the States to amend the constitution at will, without going through the purposefully complex and time-consuming Amendment process. We already have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights and what we have failed to recognize is that all we need is the enforcement of these two founding documents. Reading Article V should immediately make you aware that there is no means by which the States can amend the U.S. Constitution without the direct involvement of Congress, nor can proposed amendments be limited to those proposed by the States only.
In fact, Article V clearly makes Congress the “convening authority” over any effort to amend the U.S. Constitution. The constitution is the same as when it was written but the people of the United States in particular the politicians who have been running our country along with the judiciary have changed and are interpreting the constitution in a different way than what it actually says. This very same situation has and is still happening in many of our states including Idaho as state constitutions are being continually changed and reinterpreted because of the people who have been elected to make those decisions.
The thinking of people has changed over time and most of this change is because our public education system has created a new breed of Americans who think very differently than those in the time our constitution was written. I believe that our forefathers wrote a constitution that should stand the test of time if it is interpreted as written but that is no longer the case. This constitution has served us for 247 years and if we would only stop reinterpreting it the problems would be solved and there would be no need to even think about an Article V convention.
If you read the rules of Article V, it is congress who will call the convention and set the rules. Would you really want to entrust this corrupt congress with that duty? The biggest problem we have is our bureaucratic political system which has become corrupted, and I highly doubt that an Article V Convention can fix that problem. The only way to get out of the hole we are in is for people to change their attitudes, which I seriously doubt will happen until we are in a severe crisis that I fear is coming in the not-too-distant future. We are so filled with propaganda by the media that most people don’t know what the truth is anymore. Keep in mind we just found out that our corrupt government agencies (FBI-CIA-DHS) have been participants in one of the largest propaganda schemes in our history by restricting our First Amendment rights on liberal social media platforms.
The COS says that Congress is outside of its constitutional box. So, the question is, if Congress is outside of its constitutional box how in the world is passing a constitutional amendment to the Constitution they are already ignoring going to fix the problem?
