It has been 5 years since I wrote extensively about how the Covid-19 EUA vaccine was a potential danger because of the limited testing yet it was hailed as the only thing that would stop the proliferation of the Covid-19 virus. During the pandemic, it was Dr. Ryan Cole who stood alone and had his medical license pulled for allegedly spreading Covid “misinformation”. Had that information been widely distributed, it is hard to say how many of those who died could have been saved.
It is hard to forget that it was our Governor Brad Little who restricted pharmacists from dispensing Hydroxychloroquine for off-label use, and many Idahoans died from Covid-related deaths without the choice to be treated with zinc and hydroxychloroquine. Who gave him the power to stop a person from choosing what type of medical care they wanted to receive? Certainly, our governor is not a physician. There was even talk of the possibility that Little was guilty of practicing medicine without a license. Idahoans should be wondering if it was the federal money that drove his emergency decisions? Idahoans had died or were very sick and Little said, “Many Idahoans still face the same terrible risk. The Covid-19 emergency declaration was requested by Idaho communities and is critical for Idaho to receive federal assistance.” Little said Idaho stood to lose tens of millions of dollars in federal emergency money used to fight the virus, to be exact, the federal funds amounted to 1.25 billion. Why is it always about the MONEY?
Governor Little had the emergency powers: The answer to the big question is whether the Governor violated both Idaho’s constitution and the U.S. Constitution during Covid, and the simple answer is yes. To make it worse, the legislature did virtually nothing to stop him, as they did not have the power to call themselves back into session, as that power rested only with the Governor. In fact, the legislature asked Brad Little to call the entire legislature back into session to consider creating a liability shield for protection against lawsuits during declared emergencies like Covid. But Governor Little did not want to give up his emergency powers and lashed out at the legislature, saying that their actions would put more Idahoans at risk of getting the virus. Once again, Little argued that Idaho stood to lose tens of millions of dollars in federal emergency money. It’s amazing how everything with this administration always goes back to Federal MONEY. Fact is that 40% of Idaho’s state budget comes from the federal government.
Does Governor Little have too much power?: Why did the Governor have such extraordinary executive power in the first place: and why did he act without the advice and consent of the legislature? My personal opinion is that Little did not want to give up any of the powers authorized under the emergency powers act and vetoed several bills that passed the legislature which would have curtailed those powers. Little said that the proposals were “ill-conceived and violated the separation of powers clause and would curb the executive branches authority in times of emergency.”
Idaho’s legislators disagree with Governor Little: In an Op-Ed sent out this week by the Idaho GOP Dorothy Moon stated that “a joint bipartisan committee led by Senator Dan Foreman and Representative Barbara Ehardt reviewed how our government responded to Covid-19. It concluded that officials not only broke the law but violated our constitutional rights by closing churches and businesses. The committee also found that the Executive Branch improperly bypassed the Legislature in allocating federal funds”. It is truly unfortunate that during Covid, ninety legislators didn’t have the fight to show up and put their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor on the line for the people; however; there were 15 who did, and they were pummeled by the press for doing so. These are the 15 who showed up to fight for our rights and were never recognized for their effort. Judy Boyle, Midvale, Tammy Nichols, Middleton Brent Crane, Nampa, Dorothy Moon, Stanley, Mike Kingsley, Lewiston, Priscilla Giddings, White Bird, Vito Barbieri, Dalton Gardens, Tim Remington, Coeur d’Alene, Heather Scott, Blanchard, Tony Wisniewski, Post Falls, Chad Christensen, Ammon, Terry Gestrin, Donnelly, Paul Shepherd, Riggins, Ron Mendive, Coeur d’Alene, Christy Zito, Hammett. These are the unsung heroes, and I, for one, thank them for standing up for the people when so many others declined.
It is time for Idaho’s legislature to take back power from the Governor: Idaho legislators have determined that actions taken by Governor Little during the Covid-19 pandemic were unconstitutional and/or violated state law.
- The committee determined that the closure of churches from March 2020 till May of that year during Idaho’s multistage reopening was a violation of the 1st amendment of the U.S. Constitution by an 8 to 2 vote.
- The committee determined that the closure of businesses and the implementation of “stay at home” orders, beginning late March 2020 were found to have violated constitutional rights in a 9 to 1 vote. Arguing that the measures led to inequitable economic outcomes for those forced to stay at home.
- The committee also questioned whether the legality of quarantining asymptomatic Covid 19 patients and the decision to close schools were unconstitutional actions by and 8 to 2 vote.
It is time the legislature took a hard look at our states’ emergency power statutes, originally written in the early twentieth century. I, for one, will not forget the things that Governor Little did during the pandemic, and neither should you, as he did not show restraint but instead showed me that he is more than capable of making bad decisions for the people who elected him to protect them. You would think that Little would have had a good understanding of our constitution and the powers he had under the emergency power statutes but obviously he did not and many suffered because of his decisions.
Get the Shot or lose your Job: Let me remind you all of the companies that required their employees to get the Covid vaccine or lose their jobs. How many of them have been the victims of the vaccine’s side effects that have been the subject of investigations by independent companies, countries, and our own FDA? Do you think for a minute that these companies are going to pay for the injuries that the vaccine caused? I seriously doubt it. I talk to friends and business associates all the time who tell me that ever since they took the shot, they have not been the same and have been plagued with constant medical problems they never had before taking the vaccine.
Will there be retribution and compensation for those injured? Good question, and no one really knows the answer, but I believe that as time passes, we will find out more about how this vaccine was tested and if it was tested properly. My prediction is that we are looking at a lawsuit encompassing millions of Americans who were victims of this EUA vaccine, and the cost to rectify and compensate them for this injustice will be in the billions. Everyone remembers the often-televised commercials for Mesothelioma & Asbestos, and I will bet that we are going to see the same thing with this EUA vaccine in the future.
In closing, let me just say that when you hear that old line: “We’re From the Government and Were Here to Help You. Please turn and run as fast as you can because nothing could be further from the truth. In my opinion, Governor Little did a bad job during the Covid pandemic, and I personally believe it had to do with the enormous amounts of federal money that would flow into the state. While Little may be a nice person, I certainly will not be voting for him if he runs in 2026, as he has shown me that he is more interested in the money than in the welfare of the people he governs. He has not been a good steward of running our state, and it is time we brought in some new blood. We have a state capital that is as blue as the deep blue sea and a mayor who thinks she is running a mini-Chicago in the city of Trees. The republicans, for all intents and purposes, have not been unified for quite some time and if they don’t change soon, Idaho will become the next Colorado. Believe me, folks, I saw it happen up close and personal, so next time you go to the polls to vote, make sure you do some homework before you check the ballot because if you don’t, the libs will take over this state like a bolt of lightning and “We will get the Government We Deserve”.

Great analysis, Bob. Little is a RINO who loves Fed $$$ more than the Idahoans he swore to protect. Our state needs a tough true conservative as governor. Let’s make sure we all vote wisely next election. As for the Covid jab, it is causing many health issues for those who received it.The lockdowns were tyranny by a $$ loving so called Governor of the people of Idaho.
Article IV of the Idaho Constitution delineates the Executive Branch. Article IV has 20 Sections, and none of them indicate that the Governor has the power or authority to respond in emergency situations.
Emergency powers are found in Article III instead, which is the power granted to the Legislative Branch.
The Legislative Branch did in fact pass the Disaster Preparedness Act giving power to the Governor during a “disaster emergency.”
Article II of the Idaho State Constitution states that “no person or collection of persons charged with the exercise of powers properly belonging to one of these departments shall exercise any powers properly belonging to either of the others.” In other words, it is unconstitutional for the Legislative Branch to transfer powers to the Executive Branch. The Disaster Preparedness Act is unconstitutional.
