Small business owner and Bonneville County resident Chad Christensen has announced his candidacy for Idaho Legislative House Seat B in District 32.
Christensen is a graduate from Skyline High School. Him and his wife, Stephenie, met while attending Ricks College (now BYU-ID) in Rexburg, ID. Chad adores his wife and you will know it when he speaks of her. Chad and Stephenie have 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls.
Christensen served in the U.S. Army for 12 years. He cares about veterans. “Struggling veterans do not receive enough government support. Idaho can become the leader, in that regard.”
Christensen has served in law enforcement as a county probation officer, state felony parole officer, state welfare fraud investigator, and a military police investigator. Christensen often found himself in dangerous situations, as he was in charge of serving fugitive felony warrants while a state felony parole officer. Therefore, Chad knows how to maintain a level head during high-stress situations.
Christensen graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science. Chad fully admits that he bumped heads with liberal-minded professors, because he speaks his mind. He stated he even clashed with his liberal-minded Constitutional Law professor. Then he clashed with this same professor, yet again in 2012, when he ran for sheriff. He ran in the 2012 Bonneville County Primary. He received the 2nd most votes behind the incumbent, out of 4 candidates. His ex-professor was a “Constitutional commentator” for the Post Register. Chad has no problem standing up to anyone, and that is why you can be confident he will stand up for you.
That brings us to Chad’s passion for God-given rights, that should be protected by the U.S. Constitution.
The right to keep and bear arms – Christensen is very passionate about this topic. “If this God-given right is lost; the remainder of our rights will soon be non-existent.” This has been a significant driving force for him to run. “My opponent has blocked Constitutionally aligned legislation, in regards to this God-given right. Frankly, I have had enough of it.”
Education – Christensen is ferociously against the foolishness, indoctrination, and the invasion of privacy that comes with Common Core. “More local control will mean more innovation, if we can get schools away from federal dependence.” Chad wishes to put most of the power back in the hands of local districts. “Local people know the needs of their children. We are woefully under-educated in science, history, economics, and the Constitution. I wish to help require some vocation and technical skills training in high school. Not all of our children attend higher education institutions and we need to better prepare them for the real world.”
Public Lands – “The federal government has no business controlling our public lands. It is not authorized in the U.S. Constitution. We must take back this control. It also needs to be more difficult for the state to sell off our public lands.”
Constitution – “My actions while serving as an Idaho State Representative will always coincide with the U.S. Constitution. I will be cognizant of my every action in relation to your personal rights.”
Christensen’s reasons for running are not complicated. “I am exhausted with legislators whom serve themselves, the leadership hierarchy, or corporate interests. 90% of my opponent’s donors are national corporations. Who do you think he serves? It is time to drain the Idaho swamp and elect liberty-minded legislators, whom serve the WILL of the people.
