We must all stand for life, for peace, for civilization

Like you, we watched the events in Israel over the past week with sadness and horror. Such demonic barbarity is a reminder of the fallen nature of mankind and the absolute necessity of resolute strength in a dangerous world.

Unfortunately, the last three years of national leadership has been the opposite of strength. The Biden Administration has issued vague and contradictory statements while many of their most ardent supporters have praised brutal and heinous acts of terrorism.

As Republicans, we firmly believe in peace through strength. As Ronald Reagan said, “We know only too well that war comes not when the forces of freedom are strong, but when they are weak. It is then that tyrants are tempted.”

Tyrants worldwide are being tempted by the weakness they see in Washington DC. The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan just over two years ago showed the belligerent powers of the world that America would retreat in the face of aggression, cower behind platitudes, and leave our allies defenseless.

The Idaho Republican Party overwhelmingly passed a resolution at last year’s State Convention in support of Israel. “Israel, like the USA, is a country born from the aspiration for freedom and stands out among the nations as a beacon of democracy and humanity,” it said. The Idaho GOP called upon Idaho’s congressional delegation to “support the state of Israel in order to maintain its sovereignty rights, and its ability to defend itself against terror attacks.”

We renew that call today. The right to self-defense is the most beloved of all our constitutional guarantees, and that extends to the right of nations to defend themselves from invasion and terrorism. All Americans should appreciate Israel for showing strength and resolve in defending her people from barbarism.

Unfortunately, the other images we have seen this week—of Democratic Party constituencies waving Hamas and ISIS flags and celebrating the wanton murder of innocent men, women, and children—are reminders of the stark differences between our parties. Republicans stand for life, for peace, and for civilization. Many on the other side want to tear those things apart.

We should also resist calls for expanding the conflict to nations such as Iran. The chief duty of our government is to protect the lives of the American people, and so any direct action must come only after deep deliberation by our elected officials.

Yet there can be no debate over the moral issues at hand. Hamas is driven by an insatiable bloodlust that sees no distinction between soldier and civilian, or government and people. The Idaho Republican Party stands for civilization, for a true lasting peace, and we stand with Israel.

“I AM A JEW” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? IT DOESN’T MEAN WHAT MOST PEOPLE THINK IT MEANS.

This should not be misconstrued as support for Hamas, however, for anyone thinking America’s obligated to back the country of Israel because the Israeli Jews are allegedly Abraham’s Israelite descendants, I wonder if the following quotations (all of them from recognized Jewish authorities) have something to say about the Zionists’ claims to alleged fulfilled prophecies and the never-ending Middle East conflicts:

“Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a ‘Jew’ or to call a contemporary Jew an ‘Israelite’ or a ‘Hebrew.’” (Richard Siegel and Carl Rheins, eds., “Identity Crisis,” The Jewish Almanac, (New York, NY: Bantam Books, 1980) p. 3.)

That sentence is the opening sentence of the First Chapter entitled “Identity Crisis” of the 1980 Jewish Almanac. That today’s Jews are not genetic Israelites is also admitted in “The Jewish Encyclopedia,” the “Encyclopedia Judaica,” “The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia,” “The Standard Jewish Encyclopedia,” and by many of their historians.

According to three Jewish encyclopedias and Flavius Josephus, the entire Edomite nation was forced into converting to Judaism and became known as Judahites at the time of the high priest John Hyrcanus (Maccabaeus):

“…in the days of John Hyrcanus (end of the second century B.C.E.) … the Edomites became a section of the Jewish people.” (“Edom,” Encyclopaedia Judaica (Jerusalem, Israel: Encyclopaedia Judaica Company, 1971) Volume 6, p. 378.)

“They were then incorporated with the Jewish nation….” (“Edom, Idumea,” The Jewish Encyclopedia (New York & London: Funk and Wagnalls Company, 1904) Volume V, p. 41.)

“…from then on they constituted a part of the Jewish people, Herod [King of Judea] being one of their descendants.” (Cecil Roth and Geoffrey Wigoden, “Edom (Idumea),” The New Standard Jewish Encyclopedia (Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1977) p. 589.)

“…they submitted to the use of circumcision, and the rest of the Jewish ways of living; at which time … they were hereafter no other than Jews.” (Flavius Josephus, “The Antiquities of the Jews,” Josephus, (Grand Rapids, MI: Kregel Publications, 1960) Book XIII, Chapter IX, Verse 1, p. 279.)

We keep hearing that if we don’t bless the modern State of Israel (which America has been doing since at least 1948) that we will be cursed. However, it seems it’s been just the opposite, Since 1948, you name it, and there’s not an area in America wherein she hasn’t become worse off.

Could it because America has identified the wrong people as Israel.

Today’s Jews are not the only ones with an identity crisis.

This is the FIRST time I agree with you on anything!
The Republican Party needs to get a clue! IF people would pay attention to what has been happening in Gaza to the Palestinian people over the last decades, they might see things differently. They are squeezed into a very limited space. They are under the thumb of Israel at all times. They have no freedom. They have no hope. They have had their land stolen, from as far back as 1948 when the Zionists invaded Palestine (yes, there was an area called Palestine) and their orchards and farms and homes were taken from them. There is a documentary: ” Jaffa, The Orange’s Clockwork.” Before the U.N. and the U.S. “gave” the land to the Zionists, Arab and Jew lived peacefully, side by side. Then “the State of Israel” was given to the invaders. Since that time Palestinians have lost their rights, their property and their freedom. THEY DID NOT START THIS.

I have been watching what has been happening and every day in Gaza, prior to this recent invasion by Hamas, Palestinian children and teens have been killed by Israeli soldiers. Typically, they are shot and left to die in the street as the soldiers stand over them preventing medical assistance. WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS? Nothing is EVER told to the American people. The news media is silent. Much of America thinks we get fake news . . . until now — when Israel has been attacked.

I do not support barbarism. I do not support Hamas. BUT, neither do I support the criminal acts perpetrated upon Palestinians by Israel’s government.

WAKE UP. Israel has brought this upon themselves. Every dead innocent Palestinian’s blood cries out from the ground. NOW, the Israeli innocents are experiencing the same thing. NEITHER is blameless. NEITHER is on the side of righteousness.

The “Church” in America needs to OPEN ITS EYES. The leaders of Israel are not “God’s chosen people.” This is a crisis, and people need to know the truth before they make “resolutions” of support.
