The fake news media would like you to believe that the Omnibus spending bill that Congress passed earlier this year was a major defeat for President Trump because it did not include the $25 billion he requested in funding to fulfill his campaign promise to build a wall on the southern border.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump blew it; he got greedy and now he probably will not get his wall,\u201d Kevin Appleby, senior director of international migration policy at the Center for Migration Studies told The Washington Post\u2019s Seung Min Kim.\u00a0\u201cThank goodness.\u201d<\/p>\n

In reality, as Solange Reyner reported for our friends at NewsMax, the new wall\u00a0is<\/em>\u00a0being constructed on the southern border.<\/p>\n

A 14-mile section of President Donald Trump\u2019s proposed border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is under construction in San Diego \u2013 at a cost of $147 million, reports Ms. Reyner.<\/p>\n

Construction started Friday at Border Field State Park in San Diego. The old wall was only 10 feet high, the new wall will stand between 18 and 30 feet tall, include an \u201canti-climbing\u201d plate and replace over 14 miles of improvised border fencing built in the 1990s out of scrap metal and repurposed steel plates.<\/p>\n

Crews will build the wall starting half a mile from the Pacific Ocean, east to the bottom of Otay Mountain in East County, reported Allison Horn of San Diego\u2019s FOX News 4.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s new wall will replace the old one that stretched 8-to-10-feet-high with metal fencing that was built in the 1990s out of scrap metal and repurposed steel plates. The old rusty border wall has proven to be no match for modern day drug smugglers and human traffickers says Jeroslyn Johnson of hollywoodunlocked.com.<\/p>\n

Ms. Johnson reports, the U.S. Border Patrol\u2019s San Diego Sector is reportedly one of the most active in the nation. Last year, more than 26,000 illegal immigrants were arrested in addition to nearly 11,000 pounds of marijuana and 3,000 pounds of cocaine that were seized.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe construction of this new substantial wall will improve overall border security, the safety and effectiveness of Border Patrol agents, the safety of the public, and will enhance the atmosphere for business and commerce in the area,\u201d Rodney Scott, the Chief Patrol Agent for the San Diego Sector said according to Ms. Horn\u2019s report.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder this President\u2019s leadership, we have a renewed commitment to secure our border,\u201d Ronald Vitiello, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection\u2019s Acting Deputy Commissioner said. \u201cThe new primary wall-project represents an important milestone in our work to secure the international border. Not only does it significantly upgrade our existing infrastructure in San Diego, it also marks the third concurrent wall project in the U.S. and reflects CBP\u2019s unwavering commitment to secure our borders and protect our Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two other border projects in progress included two miles of wall in Calexico, California, and 20 miles of border wall in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, reported Ms. Horn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
