{"id":3672,"date":"2016-12-10T20:00:34","date_gmt":"2016-12-11T03:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/?p=3672"},"modified":"2024-09-23T22:44:16","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T04:44:16","slug":"federal-notice-traders-indians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/federal-notice-traders-indians\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Notice &#8220;Traders with Indians&#8221; \u2014 feds going back to the dark ages&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Federal Register notices an upcoming proposed rule for &#8220;Traders with Indians&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It is astounding to me that all Indian reservations are co-located within counties and towns wherein tribal governments have no jurisdiction over non-tribal persons, businesses or properties&#8230; AND YET&#8230; the escalating efforts to reverse history and further federalize the states, Indian reservations and the West just keeps rolling out rogue.<\/p>\n<p>The current Administration and federal agencies are truly &#8220;unsettling the West.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The drive to knock out food production by confiscating state waters for fish for tribes, to the peril of irrigation; knocking out cattle production needed grazing lands; taking down dams&#8230; and NOW it appears we&#8217;re going back over a hundred years to give power to tribes over &#8220;traders&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/federal_register_vol_81_no_237_friday_december_9_2016.pdf\">attached Federal Register<\/a> is one of those &#8220;sleeper cell&#8221; ideas to further drive off non-tribal persons and businesses from reservations, and ramp up tribal governance over non-Indians.
