{"id":2372,"date":"2016-04-01T14:00:46","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T20:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/?p=2372"},"modified":"2024-09-23T13:24:44","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T19:24:44","slug":"freedom-foundation-releases-final-2016-freedom-index-scores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/freedom-foundation-releases-final-2016-freedom-index-scores\/","title":{"rendered":"Freedom Foundation releases final 2016 Freedom Index scores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Boise, Idaho \u2014 Fulfilling its mission to hold lawmakers accountable for their votes, on Wednesday the Idaho Freedom Foundation released its final Freedom Index.<\/p>\n<p>The Freedom Index serves as Idaho&#8217;s only scorecard to keep legislators accountable when they support big government, higher taxes, and more counterproductive rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>IFF Senior Policy Director Lindsay Russell Dexter lauded legislators at the top of the Freedom Index for taking principled, conservative stands for limited government.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We praise Reps. Ron Nate of Rexburg, Heather Scott of Blanchard and Steven Harris of Meridian for regularly voting for Idaho families, taxpayers and small businesses,&#8221; Russell Dexter said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also applaud Sens. Steve Vick of Dalton Gardens, Bob Nonini of Coeur d&#8217;Alene and Sheryl Nuxoll of Grangeville for opposing big government bills this year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>IFF policy analysts read and scored 97 bills during the 2016 session and rated them against 12 diverse criteria.
