What is the moral condition of a nation that allows an entire category of its people to be murdered, one by one, without due process? How is that nation affected when, over time, the population loss is 66 million \u2013 greater than one-sixth of the country\u2019s current population?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine if everywhere you go, one in six of the people who should be there is missing<\/em> \u2026 countless friends, family members, work colleagues, classmates, church members, teammates, orchestra and choir members, hiking buddies, and others who would have enriched your life but you never got to meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The missing population I want you to be aware of is children aborted in the U.S. since the 1973 Roe v. Wade<\/em> Supreme Court decision \u2013 including over two million unborn children who have been killed after the2022 Dobbs<\/em> decision overturned Roe v. Wade<\/em>. (Dobbs<\/em> has done little to decrease abortion; an average of 1.27 million children per year were aborted from 1973-2022 and an average of 1.09 million a year were aborted in 2023 and 2024.) Also missing from our population are millions more who would otherwise be in a lineage of descendants, for those aborted children will never become fathers or mothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God commands, \u201cYou shall not murder\u201d (Exodus 20:13). Abortion is murder, for it clearly takes an innocent human life. In Proverbs 24:11 God asks us, is there anyone who will \u201crescue those being led away to death\u201d? And who will stand up for the rights of those who are daily \u201cstaggering toward the slaughter\u201d? God continues in Proverbs 24:12: \u201cIf you say, \u2018But we knew nothing about this,\u2019 does not He Who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He Who guards your life know it? Will He not repay each person according to what he has done?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022 the Supreme Court erred greatly when the justices failed to apply the entire U.S. Constitution to the question of states\u2019 rights to legalize abortion. While the word \u201cabortion\u201d is not in the Constitution, language protecting a person\u2019s right to life within the respective states is<\/strong> in the 14th<\/sup> Amendment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 14th<\/sup> Amendment, Section 1 says, \u201cnor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When Roe v. Wade<\/em> was decided, our country had less scientific information about gestation in the womb than at present. However, today we know that life begins at conception and the unborn child\u2019s heart is beating before the mother even knows she is with child (see this Live Action video: https:\/\/babyolivia.liveaction.org\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Bible revealed thousands of years ago that the unborn child is a person made in God\u2019s image. Psalm 139:14-16 describes how God made each of us and knows all of our days before one of them even came to be. Three passages in the gospels refer to God selecting a name and a purpose for John the Baptist and Jesus\u2019 lives before<\/em> they were born. Luke 1:13 relates how the priest Zechariah was told by an angel to name his son John. In Luke 1:31 an angel tells Mary to give her son (the \u201cSon of the Most High\u201d) the name Jesus. And in Matthew 1: 20-21 Joseph is told in a dream \u201cto give [Mary\u2019s child] the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the clear message of God\u2019s holy Word, the Supreme Court justices failed to acknowledge the truth that every unborn child is a person at an early stage of development<\/u> and worthy of \u201cequal protection of the laws.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does due process of law allow a person to be denied nourishment until he dies? (The abortion pill produces this result.) Does due process of law allow a person to be dismembered until he dies? (Suction abortion kills the unborn child with this horrific torture.) Is it lawful for a doctor to take an oath to \u201cdo no harm\u201d but then refer a pregnant woman for, or otherwise enable, an abortion? (These doctors are not being advocates for the unborn child.) Are the unborn children facing these actions given any advocacy in the legal system? (Will the states\u2019 attorneys general call on the Supreme Court to correctly apply the 14th<\/sup> amendment to the question of abortion?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citizens who want to honor God must be advocates for the unborn children who are still being murdered as a result of the Supreme Court\u2019s gross failure to apply the 14th<\/sup> amendment to the most defenseless persons in each state. The 14th amendment indicates NO state has the right to legalize abortion procedures that are essentially being used for birth control. The time for a woman to exercise reproductive \u201cchoice\u201d is before<\/em> pregnancy (via abstinence or contraceptives), not after. While the months of an unplanned pregnancy can certainly be stressful, there are options that the woman can choose to preserve the child\u2019s life until birth and simultaneously reduce her future responsibility to raise that child after she gives birth (e.g., specifying the father or a family member of the woman to become the child\u2019s legal guardian at birth; or arranging for adoption).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Idaho has very strict limits on when a woman can have an abortion (in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother) to prevent abortion from being used as birth control. Proposition One threatens those constraints. I urge you to vote NO on Proposition One and defend the unborn child\u2019s right to life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
