{"id":19261,"date":"2025-12-21T13:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T20:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/?p=19261"},"modified":"2025-12-21T23:29:57","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T06:29:57","slug":"statement-ag-labrador-and-seven-states-raise-concerns-about-federal-marijuana-rescheduling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/statement-ag-labrador-and-seven-states-raise-concerns-about-federal-marijuana-rescheduling\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement: AG Labrador and Seven States Raise Concerns About Federal Marijuana Rescheduling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Since before President Trump took office, many of us\u2014the Attorneys General of Nebraska, Indiana, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Wyoming\u2014have argued against the rescheduling of marijuana as a Schedule I drug.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/idaho.us16.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4e87d3a5efd1411418d70136f&amp;id=6bbcfdae50&amp;e=ac843d6779\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>See July 2024 Comment of Nebraska and 10 Other States<\/u><\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We all believe the science surrounding marijuana\u2014which has become only more clear in recent weeks\u2014properly establishes it as a Schedule I drug, and we have seen firsthand the harm the drug has caused in our communities. The negative impacts of expanded marijuana use, especially on children and adolescents, are worrisome. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>And the public policy challenges, such as the exponential increase in difficult-to-combat driving under the influence, are both significant and serious.
