Four months is far too short a limit, posing undue stress and uncertainty on Americans who would otherwise be left without coverage,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Fulcher added.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cMy bill, the RIGHT Act, expands STLDI plans to a full year, with the option to renew for up to three years. This is a practical, no-cost approach that offers families more choice, control, and flexibility to select the healthcare options that work best for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Bill Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare costs continue to rise at an astronomical rate, forcing Americans to make tough decisions regarding their coverage. Included in this turmoil is the slashing of short-term limited-duration insurance (STLDI) plans. Currently, these programs are only allowed an initial duration of three months. Including renewals, these plans can last up to four months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congressman Fulcher\u2019s Removing Insurance Gaps for Health Treatment (RIGHT) Act of 2025 would permanently establish short-term limited-duration insurance programs under the Public Health Service Act.
