{"id":17832,"date":"2024-11-11T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-11T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/?p=17832"},"modified":"2024-11-18T11:07:13","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T18:07:13","slug":"gem-state-podcast-ron-nate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/gem-state-podcast-ron-nate\/","title":{"rendered":"Gem State Patriot Podcast: IFF President Ron Nate and Tea Party Bob"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We would like to thank Ron Nate for taking the time to give us his take on Idaho, its legislature, and the challenges ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/idahoradio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Ron-Nate_Interview.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Topics:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Idaho Freedom Index giving us an inside look at who are the rinos and squishy republicans in our house and senate and how they are graded on their legislative voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will touch on why we still have common core in our schools and how the federal government threatened to take away Title 9 funds if Common Core was dropped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why has our state budget gone from 7 billion to 14 billion in 9 short years with a supposedly conservative legislature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How our state has become dependent on federal money for 43% of its annual budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How Ron wrote a bill with a 7-year plan to eliminate all federal education dollars that was killed in committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IACI&#8217;s influence in our legislature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why we still have a grocery tax as Idaho has become the tax leader in the Intermountain West because our legislators have no backbone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During Covid the U.S. Health and Human Services changed the rule on Medicaid that you could not drop ineligibles and we had 140k on those roles and most of those people are still receiving these services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State of Idaho is the largest employer in the state. Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why haven&#8217;t our children&#8217;s math and reading scores improved since 2003 while our education budget has tripled to $3.2 billion. Where is the accountability?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">School choice will drive the public system to be better because of accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eliminating the property tax in Idaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Idaho&#8217;s infrastructure &#8212; who pays for it?
