{"id":1714,"date":"2015-11-14T20:35:27","date_gmt":"2015-11-15T03:35:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/?p=1714"},"modified":"2024-09-23T13:26:17","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T19:26:17","slug":"common-core-and-the-upcoming-next-generation-science-standards-ngss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gemstatepatriot.com\/blog\/common-core-and-the-upcoming-next-generation-science-standards-ngss\/","title":{"rendered":"Common Core and the Upcoming Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2015 is the year that the Idaho Department and Board of Education are considering the Next Generation <em>Science Standards (NGSS) that originated from Federal entities.<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/science-standards.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/science-standards.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Idaho State Senate and House of Representatives will be considering these Standards in 2016, most likely under an Idaho &#8220;friendly&#8221; name.<\/p>\n<p>All Common Core subjects must cohere with the NGSS and its Framework<em>.<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nap.edu\/openbook.php?record_id=13165\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.nap.edu\/openbook.php?record_id=13165<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)<\/em> and its Framework <em>are not religiously neutral<\/em>. They teach foundational materialistic doctrines that are fundamental to Atheism, Humanism, Buddhism, etc. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/cases.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/cases.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>These worldview assumptions are cleverly disguised, thus lacking transparency.<\/p>\n<p>Based upon these foundational doctrines, the <em>NGSS<\/em> teach cosmic, chemical and biological evolution.<\/p>\n<p>Federal courts have ruled that any public education that touches on religious matters must be taught in such a way that the effect is religiously neutral. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/cases.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/cases.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On September 26, 2013 <em>COPE<\/em> filed a Complaint in Kansas objecting to the unconstitutionality of the <em>NGSS<\/em>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/docs\/legal-complaint.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/docs\/legal-complaint.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the <em>NGSS<\/em> are deemed unconstitutional, then the requirement for coherence in the <em>Common Core <\/em>Language Arts, Mathematics and the forthcoming Social Studies will also need to be revisited and perhaps repealed.<\/p>\n<p>Idaho must not become embroiled in expensive lawsuits precipitated by the Federal government&#8217;s desire to eliminate parental rights and local control of education.<\/p>\n<p>Let us join together and continue our Grassroots fight against <em>Common Core and begin a fight against the NGSS!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2015 is the year that the Idaho Department and Board of Education are considering the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) that originated from Federal entities. http:\/\/www.copeinc.org\/science-standards.html The Idaho State Senate and House of Representatives will be considering these Standards in 2016, most likely under an Idaho &#8220;friendly&#8221; name.
