Who was the Winner? Donald Trump for not participating in the Circus!
I’m sure many of our readers listened to the Fox debates on Wednesday night. Personally, I thought that the first hour was more like a circus with the constant interruptions and no adherence to the time limits. Fox has always had a love-hate relationship with Trump and since he gave Rupert Murdoch the middle finger on the debates, Murdoch was going to get some retribution by pushing Bret Bear and Martha McCallum to bring up the question of Trump’s challenge to the election in some states.
This was a defensive move by Fox asking about Trump’s actions on January 6th, 2020. They then proceeded to ask every candidate about Trump’s challenge to the 2020 election. People forget that after the election they changed the rules on the ability of the V.P. to challenge the electoral votes and took that ability away. Having that as a question showed me that Fox is now in a hate mode. Murdoch has said that he will make Trump a non-person. This is what you would expect from a Billionaire who has been spurned by the man who made Fox number 1 in the cable ratings. I have always had a high regard for Fox, but I will tell you that after last night’s debate, I have put them in a category just a couple notches above CNN.
Former V.P. Pence spent most of the night taking credit for all the good things Trump accomplished in his four years in office. I often wonder about people who are willing to take credit for others’ ideas whether they have ever had an original idea of their own. Pence has an interesting history as he served as the governor of Indiana from 2013 to 2017 and before that represented Indiana’s 2nd and 6th Districts in the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013. He is another attorney who admired JFK and voted for Jimmy Carter in 1980. He initially opposed Trump’s stance on building a border wall, baring Muslims from entering the country, and withdrawing from the terrible Transpacific partnership trade deal. Pence is just another RINO and was one of Trump’s hiring mistakes.
DeSantis who recently said Trump supporters were “Listless Vessels” was very cautious about his comments and basically said everything you would have heard from Trump had he been on stage. He is trying to run on Trump’s coattails, but he doesn’t have the personality or the charisma to pull it off. DeSantis makes a good governor but needs a few more years in office to hone his message and become mature in his speaking abilities. Heck if it weren’t for a Trump endorsement, he could well have lost his election as Florida’s governor. My only reservation about DeSantis as president is his Law Degree which makes him a potential liability. As former Presidents whose backgrounds have been in law don’t make good leaders. Lawyers are adversarial and are trained to try and win at all costs. It may work in litigation but does not work well when governing our nation.
Vivek Ramaswamy was his usual flamboyant self but made a lot of good points and was the only one who wanted to stop supporting the Ukraine War with Russia. While he is a self-made man, he did take money from a merit scholarship offered by George Soros’s brother Paul. I think that Vivek is an up-and-comer in the political world but just like DeSantis, he needs actual hands-on experience in a demanding job like the governor of a state. Till he gains that experience I doubt that his bid for president will go anywhere except to possibly endear him to Trump and gain a place in his administration.
If you want to read the article about Vivek and Soros money you can read it here: https://www.newsmax.com/politics/2024-vivek-ramaswamy-donors/2023/08/22/id/1131678/
Tim Scott is a bit too soft-spoken while Nicki Haily wound up shouting at Vivek because of his stance on not supporting the Ukraine. Haily is old school RINO Neocon and there is little to no chance she will win the nomination. Asa Hutchinson a former governor of Arkansas and Doug Burgum, may be good leaders in their states, but I sure would not want either of them as my president. Neither one of them has the wear with all to fight the bureaucracy which is necessary if we are to turn our country around. Christie as expected did nothing but rip Trump and got Booed every time he made a comment. Christie is a has-been and will never serve in political office again after his record as the governor of N.J. People have long memories and will not forget Christie who left office with only an 8% approval rating. Christie is just another attorney looking for a way back into the political game. Today, we are drowning in laws. We are contorted by judicial decisions. We are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once-private lives. They want to run every aspect of our lives which is why we need someone like Trump for 4 more years to finish the job and eradicate the moles and rats that run the Washington Bureaucracy.
I must say that I was totally unimpressed with the whole debate. The only two candidates who came off as potential future leaders of the free world were Vivek Ramaswamy and DeSantis. The rest of them are just a group of wannabes with few if any new ideas. They have all said they want to fix the economy, protect our southern border, reform our education system, and build our military. The problem is that none of them could elaborate on how they would accomplish these goals, and several could only talk about how Trump did it. While these debates will endow us all with knowledge about these candidates it is up to the American people to find the truth and wisdom in what they say and how they present themselves.
Trump turned our country around in 4 years and gave us more prosperity and hope than we have had since Ronald Regan’s days. The man has been tested by fire and continues to be hounded by the Washington Establishment since the day he came down that escalator in Trump Tower. There are few who could have withstood the pressures he has had put on him and yet he accomplished so much in only 4 years in office. He has run the political gauntlet and with four more years will cut the rot out of the Festering Washington bureaucracy. I think it was clear that the debate run by Fox News was to denigrate Trump because he refused to participate in this three-ring circus. As usual, he made a wise decision not to attend this debate and showed us the wisdom that he has in the political arena.
The legacy media and the Democrats are just starting a new campaign of fear telling us that Covid is back. Once again, they will try and scare the daylights out of Americans into wearing masks that are ineffective and taking shots that neither stop the disease nor prevent its spread. The question is will Americans fall for this fear tactic again and allow another shutdown before the next presidential election? While fear will do crazy things to people, I simply can’t believe that most of America are that gullible to fall for this Covid farce again, but only time will tell.
As Ben Franklin once said, “It’s a Republic if you can keep it,” but the final word belongs to the People.
“We get the Government We Deserve.”

I agree 100%! Trump 2024
Totally agree with you on the debate and only watched about 30 minutes before it was just TOO much. What a debacle. Chris Christie just needs to grab a box of doughnuts and go into a corner to bitch and moan about Trump.
Good Summary. I only have a minor correction. I agree with Laura Ingram – the American people won. These debates are an important part of the process. The signal-to-noise ratio might have been lacking, but there were revealing, informational moments. Some true colors came out.
Vivek gets most of the credit for getting the right issues on the table. He was the only one who would put the Ukraine issue in full view, just like Trump was the only one to shine a bright, white light on the border issue in the early 2016 debates. Personally, I think Vivek is taking a page from the Trump playbook to be the outsider taking control of the narrative and setting the table. He’s Trump’s Ed McMahon paving the way for both the general narrative and the primaries.
Perhaps DeSantos will step up – there might be time. Maybe Vivek will gather momentum. Competition is good, and Trump thrives on it, so it will make him better too. Let the games begin. Meanwhile, let’s keep an eye on Idaho and not get too distracted. We have plenty to attend to right here.
Thank you for the synopsis. I didn’t bother watching, but rather watched Trump and Tucker. That appears to have been a far better use of my time. Nominating any one of these political harlots will be the end of the GOP.
Yes. Refused to give FOX viewership rating increase. Lots of other media sites streaming live for desktop and phone viewers.
Mainstream media is death to Republicans joining hands with far-left press just to attack other Republicans. Leftist reporters – sycophants and snakes.
I agree. The debates are a joke. Why not have one on one debates without the moderators inserting themselves into the process? The debate format with more than two debaters on the stage is like a “romper room” with children screaming for attention. Let’s bring back the “Lincoln-Douglas” format. Sixty-ninety minutes one on one with no moderators. We could use this throughout all contested elections. For State legislative races we could have “backyard debates”. Incumbents would have to stand by their records. One other thing for Republicans to consider. No bigger campaign contributions to a campaign than $100. That way lobbyists and large corporations would not be able to have more of an influence on the outcome than “We The People”. This could be done not by a party rule or edict, but by asking all candidates in the party running in the primaries and the general election to take the “$100 pledge. And no contributions by individuals or businesses from outside the district.
QUESTION: What’s the purpose of these debates?
ANSWER: To compare candidates against candidates.
“[T]hey measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” (2 Corinthians 10:12)
Case in point: one biblically unqualified candidate as compared to another biblically unqualified candidate – regardless the species of Swamp Crocodile, disguised as Donkeys and Elephants.
The qualifications for civil leaders that matter are the Bible’s mandatory biblical qualifications, expunged by Article 6’s Christian test ban.Alleged Christians and patriots have been hoodwinked into choosing the lesser of two evils – they hope – rather than the best of the best of two or more biblically qualified candidates.
The best you can ever get from the biblically abominable Constitution’s unbiblical elections system is the lesser of two evils. Sometimes, the worst of the worst. And always, the evil of two lessers.

Well done
No more RINO’s in office. They are the same as Marxist Dems=America Last and power and greed First. #Trump2024
Does the GOP know what time it is?
GOP Primary debate was a DUD for Americans worried about leftist destruction of the nation
Concerned Americans looking for pledges that Republicans will do everything in their power to stop the left’s destruction of the country did not find them at the debate, and that’s a shame
