Judicial Appointments Matter

This will be one of the most memorable 4ths of July in our 247-year-old history. We have seen what having conservative justices on the Supreme Court has done to rectify previous decisions that did not stand up to constitutional scrutiny. If it were not for the three justices appointed by Trump, these decisions could have gone the wrong way and further encroached on our constitutional rights, I shudder to think what would have happened had Hillary beat Trump in 2016 and filled these three seats with liberal justices. For all the criticism that conservatives and independents throw at Trump they cannot deny that he has changed the face of America through the appointment of these three justices.

These decisions have set the progressives back on their heels and they are now calling to pack the Supreme Court. Seldom does anyone talk about how in 4 short years Trump appointed more than 200 judges to the federal bench, including nearly as many powerful federal appeals court judges in four years as Barack Obama appointed in the eight years, he was president. Trump’s legacy is what is helping to bring back our constitutional freedoms that the Democrats have been trying to take away from us for years. The decisions made by this Supreme Court could be the cornerstone Americans needed to take back control of our government from the Washington Bureaucrats.

On top of these major SCOTUS decisions, we have another reason to celebrate this 4^th of July as a Federal Judge appointed by Trump has made another historic ruling granting an injunction that blocks the Biden administration and government agencies from working with big tech firms to censor posts on social media. This includes the Dept of Justice, FBI, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure Agency, (DHS), the State Department, and the Centers for Disease Control. This injunction prohibits these agencies from taking a range of actions regarding social media companies. This ruling most assuredly will be appealed to the Supreme Court but when all is said and done the progressives will lose another battle. This ruling by Judge Terry Doughty released on July 4th could arguably be one of the most important First Amendment cases in modern history.

Specifically this injunction states, the agencies and their staff members are prohibited from “engaging in any communication of any kind with social-media companies urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner for removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech,” These agencies will also be prohibited from flagging content on social media platforms and passing them along to companies requesting them to remove or suppressing their reach. We are finally going to see one of the most massive undertakings to stop the federal government’s ability to limit Americans’ free speech on social media platforms in the history of our country. This is a very large first step in giving Americans back their 1^st amendment rights.

While this ruling is just an injunction it is expected to be upheld as the evidence is so strong showing that 50 officials across a dozen agencies have been found to have influence that pressured big tech companies to censor alleged misinformation. We certainly expect his ruling will eventually find its way to the supreme court as our current president believes it is ok to influence third parties to do what the government is not permitted to do under the 1^st amendment.

If you wondered, why the Gem State Patriot no longer participates in Facebook or other social media platforms it is specifically because of this interference with free speech. We became aware of the suppression of free speech five years ago as Facebook suppressed our reach on a consistent basis to the point that made our posts and comments insignificant as a conservative entity. This is what happened to many conservative sites like ours that were making significant gains in popularity only to be censored to death by the government’s influence on these various social media platforms.

The liberal media is taking this ruling by Judge Doughty and turning it into bad faith diversion trying to make it seem that government never really played an active part in censorship but were only trying to hold back what they considered misinformation. Since when does the government get to violate our 1^st amendment rights by deciding what is or isn’t misinformation?

CNN and MSNBC are attacking this ruling saying this judge’s opinion is an affront to government control of media content. We already are aware that the government has been influencing the major news organizations for many years in fact if you did deep enough you will find a distinct pattern of deliberate disinformation by the 5 major media companies for the last two decades.

Had it not been for the 5 major media companies along with Facebook, Twitter, and Google the outcome of the 2020 election would have been much different as these propagandists suppressed important information about Hunter Biden’s laptop and the Biden family. According to a N.Y. Post poll 79% of voters said had there been truthful coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop it would have changed the outcome of the 2020 election. This only tells us that the mainstream and social media have enormous power when it comes to influencing the way Americans think and vote. This is no different than what Joseph Goebbels did in Germany to win over the German people’s support for Adolph Hitler.

In today’s world, we must all be conscious of what we are told or read as we now know much of the information disseminated by the largest mainstream and social media companies are augmented to fit their scenarios or that of the government. You, my friends, must be aware that this disinformation is all part of a scheme to sway your thinking in the direction the media companies want. We would ask all our readers to please be selective in what you read and do some real critical thinking before jumping to conclusions on anything that is broadcast or written by mainstream media. This next election will most likely be the most important in our 247-year history, so it is critical that we get it right this time if we want to see our country survive and thrive.
