Celebrating Remarkable Achievements: Idaho GOP Unites for a Year of Success and Accomplishment

As Chairwoman, I am so proud of what the Idaho GOP has accomplished this year. Republican legislators, elected officials, members of the State Central Committee, staff, and volunteers all pulled together to make this year a resounding success.

When I was elected Chair of the Idaho Republican Party, I promised that we would lead on the issues. I am proud to report that three resolutions that began with grassroots Republicans were turned into law this year:

The State Central Committee passed resolutions calling to ban ranked choice voting, remove student IDs as acceptable forms of voter identification, and outlaw permanent life altering gender mutilation surgeries and puberty blockers for children. All three of these resolutions became law last session thanks to the hard work of our Republican lawmakers, especially Senators Glenneda Zuiderveld, Scott Herndon, and Lori Den Hartog, and Representatives Dale Hawkins, Tina Lambert, and Bruce Skaug, who sponsored these bills.

We are especially thankful for our legislative liaisons, Sen. Zuiderveld and Rep. Julianne Young, who did a great job bringing the will of Idaho Republicans to the Legislature. We look forward to their continued work in the 2024 session, which begins in just a few days. Our party is building consensus on the conservative issues that matter most to Idaho voters.

Spreading the message of faith, family, and freedom takes funding. The past year marked a triumphant period of fundraising for the Idaho Republicans Party, highlighted by several high-profile events that showcased unity and enthusiasm. Notably, Kari Lake and Sarah Palin graced the Gem State, contributing to the success of these events. Their participation added significant momentum to our fundraising efforts, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support within the Idaho Republican community. Additionally, most of our county committees fulfilled their obligations to support the state party. Despite reports of nationwide fundraising issues with state parties and even the national party, the Idaho GOP is in great financial shape heading into 2024.

We look forward to an even more incredible year in 2024, starting with the Presidential Caucus on March 2nd. Six candidates have filed to participate, and we are hoping to see several of them visit our great state between now and then.

The winner of the caucus will take Idaho’s delegates to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin next summer where they will cast their votes on your behalf to choose our nominee for President. Whichever candidate that ends up being, we will unite as a party against the unmitigated disaster of the Biden administration.

Anticipation is also building for one of the highlights of our upcoming year—the 2024 Idaho State Republican Convention set to take place next June in the picturesque Coeur d’Alene. Enthusiasm grows as we look forward to the gathering of grassroots Republican delegates from every corner of Idaho. Against the backdrop of this stunning location, we eagerly await the collective decision-making process, where crucial votes on the platform, resolutions, rules, and party officers will shape the future trajectory of our party.

As the late, great, Rush Limbaugh was so fond of saying, “the best is yet to come!”
