As I look at the current turmoil we have in our country, I ask myself, “How did we get to this point, and where are we heading?” It is interesting to note that back in the middle of Barrack Obama’s first term, coming out of the 2008 housing recession, a university professor predicted that the U.S. was heading into a decade of political instability.
His argument was that the violence in the U.S. seems to repeat itself every 50 years. Looking back to 1870, when it appears this unrest started, it followed in 1920, 1970, and now 2020. These predictions were based on a theory that models how historical forces, economic inequality, elite competition, and state capacity interact to drive cycles of political instability. He claims that these cycles have recurred across empires and republics from ancient Rome to the Ottoman Empire. His warning signals were: stagnating wages, a growing wealth gap, a surplus of educated elites without corresponding elite jobs, and an accelerating fiscal deficit. All of which reached a turning point in the 1970s.
When we look at where we are today, I would have to agree with his theory that Trump’s rise was not the cause of America’s political crisis but a symptom, as we have too many credentialed elites who are looking for positions that are no longer there. Real wages have stagnated, AI is rapidly scaring the daylights out of our professional class, and the conundrum of unmanageable public finances is upon us. It was President Donald Trump in 2016 who set the stage for the current turmoil we are now dealing with. Trump turned the tables upside down with his policies, and we witnessed four of the best economic years in our past 50 years as wages rose, the economy flourished, and everyone thought we were entering a new era of prosperity. The only ones who were unhappy were the democrats who saw the handwriting on the wall that “Their Time Was Up”. The Dems made it clear, with two impeachments of Trump, that they were not going to stand by and watch him upset their apple cart that took decades to build.
It was the Chinese Covid pandemic that stopped the Trump train in its tracks. In my opinion, it was the Covid fiasco that made it possible to get Biden elected without campaigning. I believe it was the mail-in ballots that were responsible for allowing a basement-dweller like Biden to win the election. We may never know how many phony ballots were used to get Joe Biden elected, but I can assure you after seeing the Arctic Frost list, you can bet there were many whose votes were counted more than once. The nefarious plotting done by the democrats made every effort to turn our America into a third-world country, and they came very close to doing just that.
To use one of my favorite old-fashioned words, “Patriotism” must vitalize every constitution. Our founders saw the virtues of our constitution and, under it, the United States would grow into an Empire. They were absolutely right as we became a nation that is dominant militarily, politically, economically, and culturally. Our culture has spread throughout the globe from our Rock and Roll music to McDonald’s hamburgers, America still dominates.
The question is will it continue as we are now seeing challenges pop up all over the world as nation after nation appear to be electing left-leaning leaders. Just look at our staunchest allies in the UK, where freedom of speech is no longer something they can count on as we see more and more people jailed for speaking up for their rights.
We have seen how Biden and his henchmen worked day and night to change our country with their DEI and WOKE rhetoric. How they allowed twelve-plus-million illegals to cross our borders, cause havoc by trying to jail Donald Trump, and abrogate our freedom of speech on social media platforms. Now they want us to acquiesce to their demands that Americans pay for illegals’ medical care. In four short years, they came very close to destroying 250 years of success, but I believe that everything they tried to change is coming back even stronger with Trump back at the helm.
Even this nasty shutdown of our government is going to backfire on them, along with the Communist Socialist Mamdan,i who looks like he is heading for Graci mansion as the new Mayor of N.Y.C. This sharp left turn they have made will be the beginning of their demise as the dominant political party in the U.S., and Trump still has another three years to bring us back as the leader of the free world. The left is lost in a quagmire of political socialist crapola and no one but the liberal media is selling their story to an ever-diminishing audience.
While I don’t believe we are anywhere close to a revolution, we have a lot of cleaning up to do, and it is going to take time to find common ground with the left, but this is not the first time our country was taken to task and came out on top. We all get tired of the leftist media’s continued complaining that everything Trump does is bad when we had to put up with 4 years of a president who didn’t know where he was most of the time.
I can clearly see how America is continuing to evolve after the last Turning Point meeting at Ole Miss. Vice President Vance stood on stage with Erika Kirk and then had vibrant conversations with students one-on-one, just like Charlie Kirk did, and won the hearts and minds of these young Americans. I will tell you now that the next President of the United States will be J.D. Vance, as he will be the turning point for the evolution of our country.
“We Get the Government We Deserve”.
