Idaho DOGE is Not DOGE

Elon Musk and his “band of merry guys and gals” has created controversy and consternation in the hearts of the entrenched political bureaucratic deep state in Washington DC. We need the same thing to happen in Idaho State Government, and the entrenched Republican establishment in Boise is doing everything within their power to not let that happen.

After watching two full hour interviews over the past 6 weeks on Fox News—one with Bret Baier and the other last night with Jessie Waters, I walked away impressed by the Musk Team. I have watched both interviews several times and have been very impressed with the team of engineers and IT specialists that have deployed over 8 AI soft ware platforms, including Mr. Musk’s X-AI system. They are in fact performing deep forensic level audits of government agencies and departments, that in years here to fore would have taken months to years to complete. In the interview last night, I was impressed by the respect that was shown by the auditors in the room for the government workers they were auditing.

They reported that the workers themselves recognized the problems in their departments and had in many instances reported the problems to their superiors, only to be patted on the head and told to go back to doing their jobs. This was my experience as I was given Carte Blanc access to the The Departments of Health and Welfare and The Department of Insurance several years ago. Good smart people working hard—80% A+ in my opinion. The good ones know what is wrong—they aren’t the problem. The problem is with the politicians who are beholding to the special interest corporate lobbyists who are not only campaign contributors, but they sit in counsel to our leaders in the legislature and in the executive branch.

We don’t need a committee to create a political narrative and come up with a report. That isn’t DOGE by any projection of fantasy. Do you think that our legislators or our Governor would let a government committee audit the books of their business and then come up with a recommendation about how to improve profits and cut costs!

The problem with this type of interim committee is that they have no skin in the game. They are not accountable to anyone, and they do not see the ramifications in the long or short term of their recommendations.

DOGE FOR IDAHO YES An interim committee made up at least partially of legislators is NOT DOGE. We want outside audits. Not a fairy tale that covers up the problems, many that come from the top.

If anyone is going to run against our current Governor in a primary election, accountability and audits for Idaho agencies needs to be a campaign issue. I agree with much of what Mr. Little stands for. I do not support his support for the current process of governance in Idaho and the symbiotic relationships between the corporate sector and the government agencies. This is costing Idaho taxpayers billions of dollars. Mr. Little would never run his businesses the way he is governing from the Governor’s office.
