January 20th 2025 was one of the best days for Republicans, and the country, in a long time. We now have an actual president, not a titular sock puppet that signs Executive Orders without knowing what they are about. We have a president that can converse freely and unscripted with the press while demonstrating his knowledge and command of the issues. We have a fully functional Commander in Chief.
Watching President Trump sign the Executive Orders was like Christmas Morning. With a stroke of the pen and to the great relief of a majority of voters, he radically changed the direction of the country, putting us back on a path to prosperity and common sense.
Even before the inauguration the “Trump Effect” was palpable. Israeli hostages were being released. Illegal border crossings were down and the financial markets were up. A pervasive sense of optimism was almost tangible.
Biden’s last minute blanket prophylactic pardons only served to entrench the opinion that his presidency would be remembered as one of the worst, most damaging, and most corrupt in modern times. The unspoken subtitle of the pardons was “we don’t want you to do to us what we did to you.” They knew they weaponized the justice department and fully expected it to be turned on them. Guilty by their own actions.
One of Trumps first actions was to undo what history will show as America’s darkest chapter since the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII; the release of the January 6th Protest political prisoners, some of whom had been incarcerated for over 4 years without trial. Biden pardoning of the entire J6 Investigation Committee only cemented their role in this shameful drama. It is becoming increasingly likely that January 6th will be remembered in history as a Deep State operation against Trump and his supporters.
At the suggestion of Senator Risch and with the support of Congressman Fulcher, President Trump also signed an Executive Order putting a stop to the unpopular Lave Ridge wind farm. A big win for Idaho!
The 51 intelligence “professionals” who interfered with the 2020 election by falsely claiming the Hunter Biden laptop was likely Russian disinformation have now lost their security clearance. No one is above the law.
The President officially stated the common sense obvious, that there are only two genders. He also ordered the government to eliminate the racist policies of DEI and Affirmative Action. It was so fitting that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day we would return to men being judged by their character and competency rather than the color of their skin. The promise of America is given new hope.
The Executive Order that will be the most challenged is the one ending birthright citizens for persons born to parents who are here illegally or temporarily. The 14th Amendment was passed to ensure that after emancipation the children of slaves would be US citizens. It was never intended to allow foreign nationals to give birth to American citizens simply because of the location of the birth. Historically and in most countries, children are born with their parent’s citizenship regardless of where the birth takes place. For example, our Savior is known as Jesus of Nazareth even though Mary and Joseph were famously in Bethlehem at the time of his birth. There is little doubt that the Supreme Court will ultimately decide this one.
One of the most confusing issues is the matter of banning TikTok, the video sharing app that is controlled by the Chinese Communist Party. The risk from TikTok has two parts. The part everyone talks about is the data harvesting, allowing CCCP access to American’s private information. While this is bad, it is not nearly as bad as the second part, the ability of the CCP to brainwash millions of TikTok users.
Brainwashing! Seriously? Yes! TikTok is addictive because its algorithm suggests videos you may like based on what you have preciously watched. That algorithm can lead you down a suggestive path. The CCCP has a stated objective to dominate America, and the world, and one way is to promote videos that are corrosive to American youth. The TikTok app allows the CCCP to control which videos are popular or even making some go viral. Another clue is that TikTok is banned in China.
But what about free speech? People have free speech. The Chinese government does not have freedom to manipulate the free speech of American citizens in order to promote the Chinese agenda. Having Congress ban Chinese ownership of TikTok was the right thing to do. This gives China two options; sell TikTok or not sell TikTok and have it become worthless. Selling TikTok to an American interest will remove control of the App from the CCCP while still allowing millions of Americans to continue using the app.
The law “banning” TikTok had a provision allowing the President to pause the ban for 90 days if there was a sale in the works. President Trump has exercised that clause and several prospective buyers are in negotiations. Expect a deal to be done by mid-April of this year.
