Liberation Day?

November 5th as Liberation Day? I like it. The Left going mad? Absolutely. Harris a pathological liar? Obviously. Her campaign a dumpster fire about to be extinguished? I fervently hope so.

I hope that 11-6-24 dawns as gloriously as 11-6-16 did. I remember that day well. Trump had been given pretty much a zero chance of defeating the arrogant harpy, Hillary Clinton, but the pundits, prognosticators, and talking heads of corporate media were proven completely and embarrassingly wrong.

I was outside working on siding a portion of our house that morning. I had a portable radio and my camera with me. As each conservative radio talk show host began his program, I took a video (in order to capture the audio) It was delicious to the soul. Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Shaun Hannity, Mark Levin. These defenders of liberty and the First Amendment each weighed in on the joy and solemnity of the historic moment. The fact that there was simultaneously great angst among Democrats and liberals only served to heighten the positive feelings.

Now here we are eight years later on the cusp of a very similar liberating experience. One of the actors is back, more experienced and wiser, battle-scarred and persecuted almost literally to death, but still standing and as defiant as ever. The other actor is a hollow vessel devoid of any redeeming, positive, personal characteristics, screeching for so-called abortion rights and preaching a litany of libelous hate against her opponent—an even worse candidate than Clinton was, if that is even possible.

After being taken to the woodshed in 2016, the Left learned to cheat even more effectively in 2020, and an Obama and Clinton puppet was installed in the White House. Since then we have endured one disastrous and evil policy after another. Liberation Day is almost upon us. Will the fading but still poignant American ideal of free and fair elections carry the day, or will the unthinkable happen?

We wait with an uneasy hope for good to prevail, for prayers to be answered, for the emergency brake to be pulled before America fully careens off the cliff. Fingers crossed, lucky rabbit foot in hand, and God be with us.
